The Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization (SASO) has published a proposed standard specification for ready-mixed concrete. The proposal entered public consultation on 9 September 2026, with comments accepted until 8 November 2026. It remains a proposal and should not yet be treated as a new binding requirement.
The consultation may be relevant to companies working with construction materials, concrete admixtures, testing, laboratory equipment or quality assurance on construction projects. It is particularly relevant to businesses already active in the Saudi market or preparing to enter it.
During the consultation, companies can examine whether the proposed specification affects their products, testing methods or technical documentation. If they identify significant differences from the standards they currently use, they can consider submitting comments.
Before changing products or procedures, companies should review the final version of the standard and establish how it will apply.
